Any ROG Strix card owners that have fixed RGB miscoloration and poor light on their card?

My 2060 Super ROG has a problem with the RGB logo on the top being miscolored and dim, I learned that the reason for this is the optical cable thing going bad. Due to heat? I can replace this but I'd rather try to fix this permanently.. Did anyone fix this on their card? Any idea what I can use to shield the new optical thing from heat?

 

I called the shop and the only thing they can do is refund me the card if I send it in which will leave me without a video card for 10 years? So that's a no. Luckily this fix does not void the warranty.
