What is Case Open?

Go to solution Solved by ramava,

It's for a sensor to tell if the case has been opened. I've only really ever heard of it being used in business computers.

I was looking around in my BiOS yesterday, and I saw a thing in BiOS that said "Case Open". What does this mean?

Literally means is the computer case (chassis) currently open and usually refers to the side panel specifically. It's like a warning you get on cars when the hood is not properly closed. Most OEM computers have that setting in their BIOS.
