Custom keyboard recommendations

I was wanting to get into custom keyboards & was wondering if anyone’s had any recommendations on any clicky, non cherry mx switches

A bunch of cherry patents expired and all of a sudden there are a bajillion copies of the old cherry switches, each a tiny bit different.  Iirc there was an LTT video wherein they blind tested a bunch of them.  Was a while ago. I don’t have a link.  Might help though.

I know about the patents expiring & im looking for something other than the bajillion clones still thx anyway

I'd recommend Kailh BOX Jades or Navys:

Navys have slightly heavier spring weights compared to Jades, but -- as I understand it -- they're otherwise the same.

 

Could also try Kailh BOX Whites. Similar to Kailh BOX Jades/Navys with the BOX stem enclosure, but they sound slightly different (mechanism/switch design could also be slightly different?). No personal experience with 'em.

Aight thx I’ll have to try them out sometime
