I had a Coolermaster Storm Trigger (the original) with Cherry MX Blue Switchs. G key didn't function right from day 1, but it was bearable for awhile. Kept getting worse so I decided to RMA it. I almost wish I hadn't.

First and foremost the RMA site said replacements ship 2-7 business days after they receive your product. Mine took closer to 20 business days to even ship out to me.

Finally it arrived today, open the box and they decided to replace my Trigger with a Trigger Z which is nice of them. Maybe didn't have anymore Triggers or something. All well and good, except I sent in a keyboard with MX Blue switches and received a replacement with MX Browns.

I don't ask for much from a company, I pay for your product, it works or it doesn't, if it doesn't please be so kind as to replace it they were, but as anyone who has used a mechanical keyboard will tell you keyswitch types are important. When I went through the process of buying my original trigger, I decided on keyswitch, then found one with those switches that I liked. The Trigger Z comes in Blues. I don't know if they expect me to just be happy that I got an "upgraded" (The Trigger and Z are nearly identical, only difference is the backlight color and the Z doesn't have a built in USB hub) keyboard and not worry about the switch type but I'm not happy, and given how long it took them to replace my first RMA and the lack of communication (when I asked if there was an issue with my RMA causing it to take longer to ship, they didn't actually respond to that email until a full week later when the replacement had already shipped.) I really don't feel like RMAing again.

Probably not going to buy from CM after this which sucks as my main PC is in a CM Storm Stryker, and before that a HAF 912, my work PC is in an Elite 110, I have a CM Storm Havoc mouse, and the aforementioned keyboard. I really liked them as a brand.

Bottom line, I'm pissed and I wanted to vent. Go about your business.

just bother them, I'm sure they'll replace it without forcing you to RMA the keyboard you just received again until you get back a normal blue trigger, assuming you explain the situation.

if they do you just demand escalation to talk to someone higher up and they'll fix it.

I actually just had a scenario where I received a CM Storm quickfire XT in blues and the C switch was dead. I didn't want to RMA it through NCIX because they were out, so I contacted Cooler Master. They were out of the blues switches and said that they could send me one in another switch and I asked about paying the difference for greens. They said that they will just send me the green switches for no extra charge because they were out of blues. Just give them a call and let them know what happened and they will have no problem helping you and getting you what you want.

If they're out of blue switches though, you can't do anything about it. There's a shortage of blues everywhere so there's not much you can do about it.
