so i dont know if this is the right place, but im having an issue that i need help with. i have a server at home made out of a del optiplex. for reasons i need to replace the system. i have a pc to switch to but when i set everything up its only seeing 4 out of the 8 drives i have connected. in the device manager im seeing a "!" on the SAS controller.

 

i have 4 connected via a pcie card

ive tried switching to legacey boot which is how i know that the system seeing my drives in bios

ive tried to get the appropriate drivers but nothing helped.

the drives that arent seen by windows are all labeled "SAS" something which is makinging me think its the sas controller.

 

if anyone has an idea of how to fix this issue id really appreciate the help. im fairly new to all of this.

Your SAS controller has the missing drives, it makes sense.

 

You'll need to troubleshoot the issue with the card before you'll see the drives pop up.

Screenshot the window @whispous has suggested so we can see the error message.

 

Have you verified you're using the correct drivers? Don't always trust Windows to handle it for you

but try vendor specific drivers as well. Which SAS card is it?
