My birthday was just few weeks ago and as I'm approaching the Big 5 0, I might be experience Midage Crises. How do I tell? Is the Midage Crises mostly or entirely made up?

Mind you I gotten Midage Crises Maybe from TV Sitcoms in my late teens and I can't recall if I even look ed that up.

Note: I'm looking for older men who have went through this experience and how they dealt with it. I know exactly where to get help.

Mostly but can be described as wanting to still do the things you used to.

t's really nothing more than the realization time has passed more quickly that you thought it had. Now you're getting to that age if you don't do it now, you never will again...
So you do or at least try to.
Other things you note is that it actually hurts to do some stuff you just did and never noticed any pain... But it's there now.
Takes more out of you to mow that lawn... "Gee, I used to do that everyday, all day long but I'm kinda .... Tired?"

And just try playing tackle football (For you guys outside the US - Hand egg) NOW....
You won't bounce back up from the turf like you did before ready for the next down.

To sum up:
You've become so ingrossed in your daily routine the realization just hits you one day and it's like slap to the face.

How to deal?
Well, it's either do some of the things you used to or let it go, one way I "Re-lived" the older days was to get a bike and ride it. For me that was back in 2008 and still have it today and yes, it still runs fine.
That why I used that as an example of it because that how it was for me.
My so-called crisis wasn't much of a crisis at all, more like I just one day wanted to do some stuff I used to do before I became too old to do it.

Believe me, in time you'll be fine.

Or tries to pick up women half his age and pissing off his Wife. Only because he is dumb enough to do that in front of her.

Only 0.0173% of Americans live to see the age of 100.  I regret to inform you but your 'Midpoint Of Being Alive' statistically speaking, will be reached well before you are 50.  On average the mid point for an American male would be 38 years.

One of the things I'm doing now is fixing up the old ride I had going years ago and although it's coming along slowly it's getting done.
Good thing is when I built the engine waaaaay back in 88 I did it right and it still runs fine.
It did sit for about 20 years and the engine itself had never been turned period during all that time. I made sure it wasn't locked up (Turned easily) and did a few things because it had sat for so long (Oil change and so on) to make sure it was going to fire off if it would at all and it started up like I had shut it off 5 minutes before - Ran perfectly.
After that's done I'll be able to enjoy it again and this time it won't be parked. I had to park it because I had just gotten married and well, life in general took priority but knew that going in.
Never let it go and now it's time to revive and enjoy it while I still can.

As for the wife, no way I'm gonna start acting like that - Been through too much to ruin it.

Good for You. And I hope you and your Wife are raising your kids right.

No kids so don't have that worry.
If we did you can bet they would have been raised right. 😉

Unfortunately there is no way to shove bars of soap in mouths on the Internet.

Not sure if it's even worth the effort after the deal with Tide pods.....
They'd probrably like it.
