Hi, My name is David and I have built about 20 major flight simulator cockpits over the years. My cockpits have included everything from spherical multi projector displays to full force feedback and more. I am now looking to do the same type of build for flight sim 2020 and am having a bit of trouble settling on the correct hardware. Part of my problem is that multiple monitor support is not included in the sim as of yet, but I want to build as if it were. Future proof if you will. My expected build would have 3 4k hdr monitors for outside view and 2 1080p monitors for the g1000 setup. There would be 2 interconnected force feedback yokes and rudder pedal setups as well as a plethora of different mechanical instruments and electronic interfaces. The computer for this cockpit would be purpose built and used for nothing else. Price of course is not much of an issue, so I am curious what someone would build if they wanted to max out this type of system. Example... What cpu, memory, gpu's, and so on. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Unfortunately FS2020 doesn't support force feedback 😞

Along with the lack of multi-monitor support, and the availability of VR those setups are less and less interesting at the moment.

There is a hack for the cls2sim software that comes with the Brunner yokes to make force feedback work. As for the second comment, you are most likely correct for most people, however, VR does not work for doing training. It is visual only and blocks your vision of any hardware elements installed in your cockpit making them all but useless. I understand that this is more of a game to a lot of people, however the training uses for a well appointed sim cockpit cannot be ignored. Thank you for your feedback.

Do you have a hard budget, and where do you live?

I usually do not look at a cockpit build from a budget standpoint as a well appointed cockpit is not cheap, however, I need to be able to stay under the prices found in a full turnkey system which start out at about $150,000. I usually shoot for about half that. I live in upper Michigan. Thanks for your question.

Yes of course, but my point is that there are currently so many limitations preventing from making a full blown training setup with FS2020 that it may be "urgent to wait" and stay with P3D or such until 2020 gets the necessary upgrades and features...
