Fan Endurance Question

Go to solution Solved by Quackers101,

Good Magnetic Levitation can be quite nice, so long nothing is putting pressure on them like an item.

Here is a video you might want to look into, pressure on the bearing and stuff.

More flow, less likely for any fan, that stuff like hair or dust get into the bearing which could relate to maintaince of the bearing, if not it can have less lifetime or just renew it by fixing or cleaning the bearing.

Else there isn't much else that would fail, unless you plug it into the wrong header and blow something up.

Hi! How long do Magnetic Levitation and Hydraulic bearing fans (from Corsair) typically last? Would increasing fan speeds decrease that time? My hydraulic bearing fans at balanced mode on iCUE constantly run at around 1300 RPM, would that be bad for them in the long run? Thanks for the help!

I don't see a listed average lifespan for their fans but the warranty is a good indicator of how long they may expect the fan to last.

Higher fan speeds would wear fans out more quickly but the fans are rated for 100% rpm so I wouldn't worry about that.
