Where to Plug in the AMD Wraith Prism CPU cables on a X470 motherboard

Here's some links if your motherboard doesn't have an RGB header:

Simple button-based RGB controller to stash inside the case: Simple Cooler Master RGB Controller

RGB controller with a remote: Rainbow LED Controller W/ Remote (If you're going to use this one you may need this adapter and cable)

 

Note that the 3 vs. 4 pin headers are different (Shown below)...do not mix these up! Here's an article on the difference for you.

To check if your motherboard has an RGB header, look for this (I know you have a Gigabyte, but just in case others are curious):

ASRock:

From what I've read (Never had the wraith prism cooler) it uses a 4-Pin connector and has a USB connector "powered by Cooler Master" so it may have an RGB controller built-in. If one of the cables you plugged in was this one:

Then you don't need the RGB cable and can just download this software from Cooler Master and you should be good. If you plugged in the other cable (12v 4-Pin RGB on the right) then you can use your motherboard's RGB control which you can download here from Gigabyte. If you would rather go to the page and download it directly you can do that here in case they've released a new version.

 

So, the TL:DR version of all this:

1: Make sure you plug in the fan header and either the USB or RGB header (See Below*).

2: Download either the motherboard RGB software here (Select "RGB Fusion"), or the Cooler Master software here depending on whether you used the RGB header or USB header respectively.

The cooler is AMD wraith Prism and has 3 cables. I have plugged in 2 of those since i took pictures. But i didnt take picture of the third cable.

 

The motherboard is a Gigabyte AUG X470

Are you wanting to use RGB with it?
I know for basic use the one that's attached to the cooler is all that's needed, in fact the RGB worked with mine with just this one cable in use and was controlled through the board itself since the board is RGB capable on it's own.
However the extra cables are for external use and control of it's RGB capability.

As for where to hook it up, of course the one that's part of it goes to the CPU fan header itself, the other cables go to a USB header on the board and the other cable goes to a RGB header on the board that's similar the USB header, only smaller.
If you need to, get the manual for your board and you'll get a better idea about it.

you only have to install 2 of the 3 cables.

Motherboard tier list. Tier A for overclocking 5950x. Tier B for overclocking 5900x, Tier C for overclocking 5800X. Tier D for overclocking 5600X. Tier F for 4/6 core Cpus at stock. Tier E avoid.

I've never seen a 3 pin RGB header on a board before either, as far as I know they are all 4 pin as a standard.

Yeah my issue was with the USB cable. I watched a video of someone using Same CPU and Mobo as mine on youtube.

Yeah, they use the same base connector but the one with 3 wires has one missing as seen here:

One is 5v (usually used for fan RGB) and the other is 12v (Usually for RGB strips).
