My question is should i get a mobo for my pc now and wait for the silicon shortage to stop before i upgrade, or, should i get a new CPU and mobo now and wait to get a GPU?

 

At the moment i have
CPU: AMD Ryzen 1600 (14nm) w/stock cooler

No mobo (the original wasn't working. It was a MSI B450 Mortar Titanium)

GPU: Asus Dual GTX 1060-O6G

RAM: 2*8GB Corsair Vengeance & 2*8GB Tforce 3200mhz

Storage: Sandisk 256GB Sata III SSD & WD Purple 2TB HDD
PSU: Corsair RM650 80+ Gold (Spare Corsair 550 80+ Gold)

Case: NZXT S340 Elite

ied say upgrade now if the price is right. the gpu on the other had will off the most performance for games thow but hard to get a gpu. the upgrade will only help with games that likes faster cpu.

If i were being honest, CPU and other components are not heavily affected anymore, with AMD and Intel both back at MSRP or even below at a rebate. Top ends are still dire, but at mid ends everything is up for grabs.

 

Imo, ill sell that 1600, get a B550 board and 5600X (or B560 board with 11400F), itll be a lovely upgrade while youre at it.
