Budget (including currency): 1500

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: gaming (Minecraft, COD, Val)

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): parts picked below:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600

CPU cooler: Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX 75 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

Motherboard:Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard (I didn’t want to go to cheap but I wanted display port too)

GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 580 4 GB NITRO+ Video Card

Case: Lian Li LANCOOL 215 ATX Mid Tower Case

Power: EVGA BQ 600 W 80+ Bronze

I of course have ram, a SSD and some additional fans. What worries me is that PCPARTPICKER is giving me a warning about my power supply with the motherboard and because I have the AMD 5 5600 i also have a warning I might need to update the bios. I don’t have a current computer to do that one so I am not sure if that’s going to actually be a issue or not. Any help or ideas would be appreciated, THANKS!!!

Its better and cheaper than what you have here by a long shot.

Building a pc is not the best idea right now due to stupid component prizes.

There is also plenty odd with your current config but the prebuilt is still better than anything I can do for the money

Get an i5-11600K and Z590 instead. The CPU is cheaper and faster, and the motherboard pretty much the same. And really you won't need a liquid cooler, get something like a Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4. You would save about $150, which you can spend on a better GPU.

Like above, prebuilts are probably the best option currently.

There are even 3070 options and well that even much better than the system you have there. Just make sure that when you get a prebuilt it isn't a dell and such; Ibuypower is pretty decent overall. Also make sure it uses a mesh case and has dual channel ram to prevent temperature and performance issues.

Sweet, thanks for the help there. I’ll check this out. I looked into prebuilt but they got a lot of heat in reviews.

They are all very good configurations, but they are all sold out i think.

So do you guys recommend websites or like stores like Best Buy that I can look for prebuilts?

That one is somewhat decent, at least the graphics card is much better than RX 580 (RTX 2060)

No info about what SSD and HDD though.

With patience, and $20 extra you could step the motherboard down to b550, cooler down to an over kill air cooler (could step this down to something closer to a U9 or U12 Chromax if you wanted it to not have Noctua colors), and then step up to a 6800 from the 580.

PCPP will show a compatibility error with the motherboard and CPU, but you just need a USB stick that you can put the newer BIOS on. This board will support bios flashing without a CPU.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

That high end cooler and that lower end PSU don't really mix imo.

For cooler - Fuma 2 would suffice

For PSU - Something like Corsair RM650X maybe? Or Fractal Design 660W Platinum.

I honestly haven't followed Intel very much since 9th gen. I'm not sure what motherboards to pair with what CPU if that makes sense.

What about the graphic card he put on the list. The Asus Radeon RX 6800 16 GB Video Card doesn’t have a price on pcpartpicker but when I look it up, it looks like it’s a couple grand. What do you think is a decent card that won’t break the bank?

There is no good option. I'd buy a used one, as no new card between ~300-600 $ is any good.
