Hey, I got an Ryzen 5 3600. I am considering either a 3070 Rog Strix or a 3070 TI(If they release, noone knows) Will my processor be able to keep up, mostly planning on doing 1080 p to begin with but might invest in 1440 p monitor to explore more high detail gaming. Very thankful for answer. Will my CPU bottleneck my GPU?, IF so how much?

There is ALWAYS a bottleneck in any PC

There will be a bottleneck at 1080p, but its not a horrible pairing by any means.

At 1440P where it is so gpu bound, it will be a tiny bottleneck.

Big nerd.

I see, that is very handy to know. Thank you I was just cautious since I didn't want to throw my money in the lake on something that wouldn't give me excellent performance comparing to my current setup which is a RX580 4 G

I'd say this is a good balance. You'd be more likely to be GPU bottlenecked.

I see, all the like things I have looked at has been more towards the CPU being bottlenecked. But I mean I am not educated in the matter. I thank you for your insight

You would be better off at 1440p, as the GPU would take more of the load.

You could always get yourself a nice CPU cooler and give your cpu an overclock, to minize the bottleneck you would have at 1080p.

I am going to add a 1440 p monitor down the line like a month or 2 after initial GPU purchase since I can't buy to many expensive items at a time, due to economy and my girlfriend 😄

Here you can see the GPU being used 99% most of the time. That means the GPU is the biggest bottleneck. There's always a bottleneck, otherwise you would have unlimited FPS.

Also if you don't care about ray tracing or OpenGL performance the 6700 XT is better than the 3070. It's slightly faster and also cheaper (here at least).

The 3070 will NOT bottleneck a 3600. Obviously you can get a better GPU like a 3080 or 3090 or whatever but you are not sacrificing CPU performance with a 3070

That's a nice point, I might consider Radeon, I just like how the Strix 3070 looks, cause I got a thermal glass panel, so I want it to have some lighting 😄

If you really care about the RGB you should go with the 3070, it's not much faster. Maybe 10fps difference. If you wait for 3070 TI they'll probably be simular, just a different price.

Yeah I am not planning on buying one right now. Maybe like 6 or 12 months. Who knows.

How much W is your PSU? 3070 and 6700 XT need more power than that 580. I'd say if you have less than 600w you should buy a new PSU when you upgrade.

I bought a new PSU 2 weeks ago, A RM750X because I intitially looked at getting a 3080, till I realized it was overkill and that 3070 or 3070 TI is a good middleground. So to answer your question clearly, I got a 750 Watt gold rated PSU from Corsair

That should be fine

Will it be good enough for a 3070 TI, since I was initially looking at getting it for a 3080?.

We will have to wait until we know the power usage of the 3070 TI, but I don't see it using more than a 3080, so for now, yes.
