SSD Choice, First Build

I'm building my first build, I wanted to get Crucial MX500 500gb [$85] as main storage, but it's out of stock right now, and the best I could find is Samsung EVO 850 500gb[$50], Should I go for it? 

 

PS: I don't live in the US or Canada.

They'll perform the same, either is a good choice even if the 850 is older.  I use the 750 with 860's, for comparison.  They're fantastic drives.

What are the specs on your pc? Id get a m.2 nvme drive as there about the same price and faster these days.

A 500GB MX500 for 85 USD or a 500GB 850 EVO for 50 USD? I'd say the EVO is the clear winner here. For a slight increase in TBW, the price almost doubles.

Do you have a m.2 port? I suggest getting that instead of sata drives.

The EVO 850 Has no DRAM, is it still worth it ?

THe 850 evo has dram, but its a old drive, so the 870 is the current model

 

For most desktop uses dram won't make a noticable difference in performance.
