Apps not Working on puppy linux

I have bionic pup on my netbook I installed some apps and they appear on the menu but nothing happens when I click on them. I ahve tried:

1. restarting it lots

2. leaving it a long time

Puppy Linux is really, really old...I wouldn't use it. If you want something beginner-friendly, try Xubuntu or Lubuntu. If you are a bit more skilled (or willing to learn), try Arch.

 

Does it have an SSD?

A sure way to identify a problem is to try to launch the apps you installed from the terminal to see what error messages you will get. There may be some missing dependencies or similar.

Simply open the terminal (usually Ctrl + Alt + T or find it on the desktop) and type the name of the program you installed. It should either launch or throw some error message.

I put lubuntu on it and it works lovely!
