Youtube is broken

Not sure if it's just me, but starting yesterday almost every time I try to play a video I get met with this,

 

I have tried so much to fix this. I tried unplugging my router, I turned off youtube plugins that I have enabled. I've restarted my pc even, I cleared my DNS and tried using Google's, I even installed Chrome and still nothing. I even tried connecting to my phones mobile hotspot to see if it might be an internet problem. I have this issue for the majority of videos I've tried playing, pretty much everything I have in my playlists and watch later won't work. I legit have no clue what's wrong.

Does it work on your phone if you are logged into the exact same account?

Additionally, have you tried logging out of your account on your PC and playing a video while signed out?

 

Provided the issue isn't bound to your account, you could check to see whether it's a hardware issue by booting Linux from a USB and seeing if the issue persists. Or even boot Windows into safe mode if you don't feel like or have the ability to make a bootable Linux media.

Oh also, do you have a VPN active? I have had a problem with the exact same error, but only when watching the Fomula 1 youtube channel, and it seems that YT blocks certain ProtonVPN servers from accessing the copyrighted content of that channel. For some reason you could only watch the channel if you connected to a server in South America, the Middle East+Cyprus, or New Zealand. And it may be possible that YT or F1 could block those IP addresses too if they wanted. 

What kind of content are you trying to watch, if it is news, music, or sports, then try something like a lesser known gaming youtuber.

I just tried now, and videos that aren't loading on my pc work just fine on my phone, it logged into the same account.

I just did that, signing out of my account and refreshing the videos and now they work. Once I signed back into my account they stopped working again. Which makes no sense, they work when signed in and watching on phone or other device but don't work when signed in on this pc.

No, I even tried with a vpn on and it was doing the same thing.

 

And it's doing so on a variety of videos, even ones that have 100's of thousands if not millions of views.

I switched to a different gmail account of mine and that one's also functioning fine.

 

So for some unknown reason it's only if I try to watch videos on the specific account then it's not working

Did you switch accounts within the same chrome user or did you change from the chrome user menu in the top right. Because at work they have blocked nearly every single YouTube video, but if I open up a new account on chrome there and sign in with my personel email everything is unblocked.

 

And I want you to try videos that have like less than 50k views, not those with millions. Because if this is somehow a copyright DRM error the ones with millions of views are a lot more likely to have that system in place than a video with very few views.

I should have mentioned above, but Firefox is the browser I use (been using for 11 years) but earlier I was still having the problem with the same account even when using Chrome.

 

I just clicked switch account on the top right corner of Youtube where the gmail shit is. I've found videos with single digit views and they load normally. So apparently it's something about my main gmail account that's the issue.
