CPU Fan spinning really fast + no display after installing new CPU.

Amkez

First of all, my specs (Yes, everything is compatible.):

Old CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 3.4GHz

New CPU: Ryzen 5 3600x 3.8GHz
CPU Cooler: AMD Wraith Stealth Stock Cooler
Motherboard: ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING
SSD: Crucial P5 500gb
HDD:WD BLUE HDD 4 TB
Graphics Card: ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce® GTX 1660 SUPER™ OC 6gb
Memory: CORSAIR Vengeance RGB PRO 16 GB DDR4 + G.Skill Ram 16 GB
Power Supply: Cooler Master MWE Gold V2 650w
OS: Windows 10 64-Bit

I did the following steps:

- Disconnected the PSU cable

- Disconnected CPU, Mobo, PCIe, USB 3.0 cables

- Removed Graphics card, RAM , SSD and the HDD cable

After removing the CPU Cooler and CPU , I applied Thermal Paste on the new CPU and put it in the socket.

The CPU Fan starts spinning fast, display does not turn on.

I tried again with the old CPU and it worked fine.

Any suggestions?

Is your BIOS up to date?  If so, make sure the 3600 doesn't have any bent/missing pins.

Yes. I updated it today to the newest version.

I also checked, and the pins were okay.

If all the pins are in good shape, it sounds like it is dead unfortunately.

Last thing I would try, just because, is use just one of your ram sticks by itself, since you're mixing brands.

This is all assuming your bios is set to defaults/auto of course.

My guess is:

Either the CPU is dead, or the CPU Cooler is not compatible with that CPU.

I googled the TDP (Thermal Design Power) of both (the Wraith Stealth cooler and the 3600x):

- Wraith Stealth has a TDP of 80w

- 3600x has a 95w TDP

Could this also be the issue?

I would suggest the 5600X over the 3600X if you're mainly gaming.
