Got some money YYAYAYYAYYAYA!!!!

All that photo copying is starting to pay off, so looking to upgrade my computer.

  • CPU: AMD Phenom II 1055t (@3.2 from 2.8)
  • CPU Cooler: dark rock 2
  • GPU: XFX 7950 3gb (no overclock)
  • MoBo: Asus sabertooth 990fx
  • Ram: 8gb Corsair Vengence
  • PSU: 520W Cooler master
  • HDD: WD 500gb blue

So what now!?

Things to note:

  • I don't need more gaming power however an overall faster system would be nice.
  • My case is rubbish
  • I love my computer to be as quiet as possible.
  • I like the look sound and idea of water cooling however it might not be that practical with the parts I have (might make it harder to upgrade in the future.

I am looking for ideas and options.

Thanks

EDIT: I will write any idea I receive here:

  • SSD (Samsung evo)
  • CPU (FX 8350)

CPU and SSD.

Any suggestions for cpu?

if you arent upgradeing graphics get a SSD for improved speed and performance or you could get a cool case to look at

I am not against upgrading my gpu however it seems like a bit of a waste of my current one. I bought the computer from ebay (second hand)  for about £450 which was a good deal on all the pasts.

Samsung EVO for the SSD.

What about other parts around your computer, then? Speakers, headphones, chair?

My chair is fine. Don't use my speakers. I have a mechanical keyboard and am not planning on replacing it. However i do have a cheap rubbish headset (plantronics 780 great bang for ya buck but still awful) I also have a rubbish stock wired mouse, replacing it would feel like a waste of money though because i don't use on mouse macros anyway.

Any suggestions for cpu?

Since you have a socket AM3+ board, FX8350 if you can afford it ? Otherwise go cheaper with a FX6300 or less. Just suggesting, but that's what I'd do.

Price don't seem too bad. Will definitely consider it. Thanks.

Get a ssd. See how performance is after that before thinking about upgrading your cpu or anything else..

Any suggestions other than the Samsung evo?

They're all pretty similar and you wouldn't notice the difference between then in everyday usage--get whichever is cheapest. Probably a SP600, SSDNow v300, or M500.

Samsung 840 EVO are believed to be the best, but one of the more expensive, I have the ADATA SP900 and it works wonderfully, the firmware is a bit jumpy tough.
