I'd like to edit the About This Mac screen on my Hackintosh, and to do that I need to edit some files in my System folder.

The two changes I want to make are make it display Hack Pro (2021) and 6-Core 3.6 GHz AMD Ryzen 5 instead of Mac Pro (2019) and 6-Core 3.6 GHz Intel Core i5, but to do that I need to edit a .strings file in the system folder.

I can't edit or replace the .strings folder though as the System folder is in read-only mode. If I use Get Info and try to change my account to have read/write, it tells me "The operation could not be completed as you do not have sufficient permissions." If I go into root mode and try and use chmod 777 to change the folder or system drive, I get "chmod:  Unable to change file mode on Macintosh SSD: Operation not permitted".

I did see this, but I'm very confused by it and not exactly sure what it's telling me to do.

Any advice is appreciated!

PLEASE STOP [Killing] ME I WILL GIVE Y OU ANOTHER DEAL.
