Are you buying this from a prebuilder or second hand? This is worth... perhaps 700 aud second-hand, under 1k aud new, and that's with today's outrageous pricing of gpus.

I am NOT a professional and a lot of the time what I'm saying is based on limited knowledge and experience. I'm going to be incorrect at times.

Getting a 3400G just to use a dedicated GPU is an odd pairing. I'd consider upgrading to something like a Ryzen 5 3600 or 5600 which will be a much better CPU in the long-run, especially if you decide to upgrade your GPU at any point. Otherwise, it doesn't look too bad considering it was your first build.

Out of curiosity, was a large portion of your budget spent on a GPU? $1900 AUD seems a bit overpriced for what you have.

I mostly speak from my own past experience from similar problems. My solution may not work for you, but I'll always try my best to help as much as I can. If you want me to see your reply, make sure to quote my comment or mention me @WaggishOhio383, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

This is a custom build from a Computer Parts Online Store who put it together for me. Please note: Everything in AUD (Aussie Dollar) is outrageously marked up higher than just the exchange rate (USD to AUD) so if something is say 699 USD and Exchange makes it 850 AUD mark up will take it to 1199AUD or higher (please note values are expressive and demonstrative and not accurate)

Thank you for that. To be honest, I wanted the best that I could afford and that was the 3400G, but I do agree that there are better options out there. I am using a dedicated GPU simply because I prefer that over integrated graphics, and gives me the option to use more monitors if I choose to upgrade from just the two I have now.

But I thank you both for your input.

Even at 1500 aud, that translates to around 1150 USD. A year ago You would've had no problem building that in the US for around or under $500 with similar componentry if not exactly the same, provided you went used with the GPU. 650aud+850 makes it just beileveable... maybe? The thing is, that's last year. This year It's all gone to hell. If your description of the market difference is correct, you might be fine? Imo it's not very beileveable.  I do understand there are market differences, and I don't have a ton of experience, but I have done build lists for people in austrailia, and they've told me the total costs for their builds after purchasing. I never once heard a figure that was say, 2x more than the rate that I configured it at. Perhaps you're confusing scalper markups with regional diferences? I dunno, could be something that I didn't consider, not convinced though. I beileve that you're just getting scalped.

Oh, on a side note did a rep. from that company tell you that or is it just you telling me through your experience? Just gotta make sure.

I did a lot of research BEFORE I made the purchase through a number of companies. The company I eventually went with were reprable, trusted, highly rated, good (not the cheapest but good) pricing, and after sales service was immaculate.
