Future of 4K gaming

I wonder when the performance of 2 GTX Titans and a 4K 60Hz 22-28inch monitor will cost less than $2k total.

lols @ 27" 4k monitors, if you *only* play games on your computer, then maybe, but if you actually do other stuff then that resolution is going to be utterly useless.

 

Put it this way, rough maths makes the standard default windows 7 taskbar at 7mm high on a 30" 4k monitor... (40px high)

That's Windows 7. Windows 9 and above will probably optimize higher resolutions.

true but it's going to be a looooooooong time until all software is properly optimised, I mean a lot of software now doesn't even handle windows DPI settings nicely, utorrent to name an example.

What I wager will actually happen is it will still be a percentage of the screen size for smaller resolutions and will be a set height at 4K and greater resolutions

It won't be long until we start playing Battlefield 4 on an IMAX screen  :rolleyes:
