Dremeling 1u Heatsinks to Accommodate GPU

Dremel away, doesn't look like you would be removing much of the heatsink so I wouldn't worry about it. I doubt the proximity of the graphics card would raise the temperature of the heatsink.

So, I've made progress on my dual Xeon project, and my GPU fortunes looked up when my EVGA queue for an RTX 3060 popped. It came in the mail today, so I decided to try and bench test the board.

 

Problem is, the GPU is too long and interferes with both one of the RAM slots, and the passive heatsink for CPU2 (pictures attached).

 

I already found a way to get rid of the RAM clip (I'm going to experiment with non-optimal RAM configuration) but the heatsink is clearly still an issue.

 

I've been reading that dremeling off parts of the heatsink fins shouldn't be a huge issue, but my concern comes from how close the shroud is to the heatsink. Would this proximity cause heat problems with the GPU? Should I just buy another aftermarket cooler just to avoid the trouble? Some insight would be appreciated.
