RTX 2080 issues, not being detected by mobo

2080 was used in a Z270 gaming m5 with an Intel i7 7700k since release, lost display out twice while the PC was on, had to restart to get it working again, sound still worked and I believe mouse and keyboard were still getting through.  Third time this happened, it didn't display out when I restarted.  I tried the 2080 in a separate system, VGA light lit up on Mobo.  Took the 2060 that was in that system, and it worked as expected where the 2080 used to be.  At the moment I'm just hoping to hear anything other than I need to go find a new gpu
