Hello guys,

I think this is the right place to talk about my worries.

I've beed watching tech youtubers since I was a kid, mostly LTT and der 8auer, back then I was running a Phenom X6 and an 8800GT.

I allways was a bit jelous of the (back then not so big) tech influencers with all the top end hardware, me stuck with my sucky system chasing fps.

So I got influenced and here I am now as an adult, lately build two balls to the wall gaming setups worth way above 10 grand, which is still a lot of money for me. And honestly I don't know what for, I work so much, I hardly have time to play games even 8 hours a week and now I wonder if I am so impressionable that I just built those systems because I thought I need this because the tech youtubers have it.

Could have bought a 530d for that money...

I also could scalpe my systems and make even more money with them, but I don't want to because especially as an electrical engineer I still love the tech.

But why does one built two PCs, if a PS5 and my old System 3700X and 1080ti would just had been fine?

Anyone else feels like that?

I'll trade you two brand new systems for an old Haswell based Xeon in a consumer grade board with a GTX 980. Trust me, it's not fast for rendering.

I have asked myself the same question many times over.
You have no idea how many pieces I've got around here, boards, CPU's, GPU's, sticks of RAM..... I mean I could literally open a computer store.

I've stopped buying stuff (More or less) and riding it out with what I've got and I've even sold some of it off.
TBH it's really a hobby once you get into it at the level I am, if it makes you happy then I guess it's worth it but if not, find something that does.
