Would like some help with my components to see if they are any good or if I need anything more

Budget (including currency): -,19 000 (kr)

Country: Norway

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: only for gaming

Other details I am only looking for professional advice of if my desktop set up of components are any good and will work well. (sorry if this is the wrong place), I am trying to build a computer for the first time and I have created a list of all the components for it, I got:

- Corsair TX750M, 750W               -PSUAMD Ryzen 7 3700X             -ASUS ROG Strix B550-F               - Cooler Master Hyper 212 ARGB Black                                  - Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO DDR4 2933MHz 16GB                   - Corsair iCUE 220T RGB Mid-Tower Black                                  - Kingston A2000 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD                                                 - Seagate BarraCuda 2TB 3.5'' HDD                                                - ASUS GeForce RTX 3060 TUF GAMING OC

I just want to have a pretty good gaming computer, I haven’t upgraded mine in 5 years, I currently got a gtx 1060 6gb, 7.95 gb ram and an i7-7700 CPU (that’s all I know)

And I was just wondering if it is any good

this is the website i use:

The R5 5600X would be the better choice vs the 3700X if just gaming. You should also consider the i5 11400/F and a B560 board as it will be cheaper.

Change the Ram to 3200MHz or 3600MHz CL16.

Keep the GTX 1060 for the short term until gpu prices/availability return to some normality.

The WD Blue SN550 1TB is a bit cheaper on that website.

I'd trade the Kingston drive for a Samsung one (970 EVO), assuming they're around the same price in your region, because its 50% faster and Samsung is known for making great SSDs. They're comparable in price here in the US. Otherwise, if you don't care as much about performance, the Crucial P2 or WD SN550 would save you some money.

And I'd go for faster RAM, especially if you really want Ryzen. 3200MHz isn't really more expensive than 2933MHz and 3600MHz doesn't cost much more.

Why would you need a 970 EVO? They are overpriced, and not worth the money for the speed it provides. The A2000 is a great value drive, and that 50% faster claim is complete BS.

They can be found on sale for the same price as an A2000, and the sequential read/write performance is 3500/2500 vs 2200/2000 (59% faster/25% faster respectively)

I have always seen the A2000 for around $30 - $40 cheaper than the 970. Even in Norway, there are much better value drives such as the SN750. OP is literally just gaming, paying that premium for the extra speeds is a stupid idea.

Looking at Honey's Droplist, it looks like's it's been a while since the 970 EVO went on sale below $140. IIRC, late last year I saw some going for around $125-130, but that's not been the case so far this year. In that case, I agree the A2000 is a better choice. That said, if I'm going to go for a cheaper option to save money, I'd go with a Crucial NVMe (which I did - my system has a 1TB Crucial P1 in it)

P1 isnt a fast drive but doesn't really matter if gaming. if you are going to pay $145 for a 970 Evo may aswell get a Sab 4.0 or you can get a better value drive like the SN550 or A2000

The P1 is QLC while the A2000 is TLC. As a game drive it makes little difference, but as a boot drive, I'd prefer the higher endurance of the A2000.

Which is why, in my first post, I recommended the P2, which is a TLC drive.

The P1 is the drive that I chose because I got it on sale, and I actually do use it as the game drive for my system. My system's boot drive is a 2TB SATA Samsung 860 EVO. Both have pros and cons as a boot drive, and I selected the Samsung one because I have 48GB of RAM, so I can use the RAPID mode to accelerate small writes. My next system will certainly have a better NVMe as its boot drive.
