Meta-chat-apps?

Does anyone know of any good meta-chat-apps?
What I mean by this is a program that can connect to multiple backends to send messages.

I'm only aware of Pidgin.

Currently I use ferdi which operates by loading the web version of the chats.
This seems better.

Back in the day I used https://trillian.im/ which could connect to AIM, ICQ, IRC, Jabber and a ton of others, but I haven't used it in ages.
