I want to buy M5A97 and operate in Dual Channel

My question is:

  • Can 4 GB dual channel (4X2) combine with 8 GB dual channel (8X2) with the same Frequency ??
( I want to buy 4GB  dual channel 1st and later I buy 8GB  dual channel for upgrade later )

  • Can 4 GB dual channel combine with 4 GB dual channel with the different Frequency??

Your would be better just buying a single set and then doing an upgrade later by replacing the current set with new ones. Then if you buy them pre-set for two dims you know they are going to work.

Yeah, but if they are different frequency then they will all run at the speed of the slowest. (unless they overclock well, then you can push them to the speed of the highest)
