Large folder containing videos vanished

Hello,

While cleaning my pc I unplugged my HDD SATA connector (pc was turned off ofc) and after rebooting 1 out of 3 folders that I had on it was gone, around 750gb of footage. I can see that space is still allocated, I tried showing hidden folders, didnt work. Oh and also, the name changed from 'local drive (E) ' to 'new (E)'. Any ideas how to get it back? Thank you in advance!

Use a Linux Live-CD to perform a file system check. Be careful though, using Win-OS to perform that check may wipe the data off the drive, so first of all, get another drive and make a direct copy of all data.

linux came in clutch, I got all my files back. Thanks^^
