I have a tight budget around $500. I have a deal lined up for a GTX 1060 for about $100, so that leaves ~$400 for the rest of the parts. I've thrown together a quick build on pcpartpicker but I thought I'd post it here to see if there's anything better I can go with.

CPU: Ryzen 3 3200G - $129

Motherboard: MSI B450M PRO-M2 MAX - $75

Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8 GB DDR4-2666 - $54 (This will be one of the first things I'll upgrade to 16GB, unless there's a similar 16GB kit around the same price)

SSD: Team GX2 512GB - $50

Case: Phanteks Eclipse P350X - $55

Power Supply: Gigabyte P-B 450W 80+ Bronze - $25

Total: ~$390 + $100 for the 1060 = $490

Any thoughts on how I can make this better? I'm not really going for looks here aside from the case and black memory sticks.

What games would you be looking to play on it?

If you wish, you could go down to a A320 board, and get more cores by getting something like a Zen or Zen + Ryzen 5 CPU.

Fuck you scalpers, fuck you scammers, fuck all of you jerks that charge way too much to tech-illiterate people.

Unless I say I am speaking from experience or can confirm my expertise, assume it is an educated guess.

Current setup: Ryzen 5 3600, MSI MPG B550, 2x8GB DDR4-3200, RX 5600 XT (+120 core, +320 Mem), 1TB WD SN550, 1TB Team MP33, 2TB Seagate Barracuda Compute, 500GB Samsung 860 Evo, Corsair 4000D Airflow, 650W 80+ Gold. Razer peripherals.

Also have a Alienware Alpha R1: i3-4170T, GTX 860M (≈ a 750 Ti). 2x4GB DDR3L-1600, Crucial MX500

My past and current projects: VR Flight Sim: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/nathanpete/saved/#view=dG38Jx (Done!)

A do it all server for educational use: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/nathanpete/saved/#view=vmmNcf (Cancelled)

Replacement of my friend's PC nicknamed Donkey, going from 2nd gen i5 to Zen+ R5: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/nathanpete/saved/#view=WmsW4D (Done!)

Definitely the PSU in this example would be something to consider. Something I know Linus, and many other PC builders/Tech tubers have said in numerous occasions its best to get a reputable solid power supply.Having a bit of over head in terms of power can really help if you ever get or think of getting a CPU or GPU that has boost clocking that might make the card increase its power usage by a bit. Safer is better than sorry. Plus paying twice on PSU's is a drag.

I love PC building and gaming.
REMEMBER botttlenecks can happen at all points of a PC part. Make sure you are at equilibrium. For all parts unless you intend to upgrade at a later point. Also QA Tested AAA Games.

The EVGA BQ is a pretty crap PSU, he only used it because its cheap.....

Just because a reputable company makes it doesn't make it good. Look at Gigabyte PSUS, they are terrible.

b550 > x570

Hey I never said it was the best I'm only arguing not to bottleneck the power supply.

seems like a solid build to me.

go for the i3 10100F (or without F) if you can fit it in budget.

consider getting at at least 550-600w psu to be able to upgrade your gpu later on, you will thank me in few years.

The EVGA BQ is okay and not more than that. but it can certainly hold your system without any issues.

Yes, but what part of "extreme budget build" don't you understand. Yes we are all PC enthusiasts and know B450 is far better than A320, but OP needs to decide whether or not to sacrifice an upgrade path for the significant at times decrease in price of an A320 board.

Never get a Gigabyte or the EVGA psu one he has given above. Also unless you're upgrading to 5th gen ryzen the b450 is overkill, there are many a320 boards with pretty decent performance and overclocking features . Get a 250 or 150gb SSD and a 1tb hdd. For the hdd go with the Seagate Barracuda compute , it's around 40 dollars or so.

If my answer is correct or is helpful please mark it as the solution. Quote me in your post to summon me. Beware that after summoning me ill never leave.
