Budget (including currency): Up to $6000 but looking for best value.

Country: USA

Hi I'm looking for the beefiest computer possible without diminishing returns. I don't mind building it myself or prebuilt.

To me the 3080 is worth it because yes it's basically twice as expensive as the 3060. But it offers twice the performance. So you're getting more computer without diminishing returns.

If I'm wrong about that let me know. I have only built 1 computer in the past so I'm not an expert.

This computer for $2800 is the cheapest pre built I have found with a 3080

https://buildredux.com/pages/build-your-pc?build=best

On the other hand here is a 3070 for $2160

On https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/ it shows that a 3080 has 33% greater performance than a 3070 (200% total benchmark vs 150% total benchmark)

$2800 is exactly 33% greater than $2160 (lol) so in that case I wouldn't mind spending the extra money to get that 33% better performance as there aren't any diminishing returns yet.

I'm looking for suggestions on how to get a computer with the max specs possible without diminishing returns. Let me know what you guys think! Is that $2800 prebuilt the best option I will find?

change the budget to about 1400-1500 otherwise the returns diminish from there.

Rocket League with 360fps monitor and video editing.

If neither of these are for profit then your budget should be far lower. Since the machine isn't making any of the money back that you spend on it having a high budget is very detrimental to getting the best value. so lower the budget and specs considerably

The graphics card is the most important part for me. What's the best card I'd be getting in that budget?

actually if you looked at the entire PC as a whole, there's some fixed costs like PSU, casing, storage etc etc

factor those in and the machine with 3080 would probably be more fps per dollar than the 3060 machine

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

none

You picked the worst time in the past 30 years to buy a graphics card. There are currently no gpu's that exist that perform relative to their price. Even purchasing a 5 year old gtx 1060 costs 3-400 $ and does not deliver 3-400$ of performance. Every currently available gpu is simply scarce , that's it , none will perform relative to their price. If you want to build a machine where price did not lead to diminishing performance then you need to wait until the market returns back to normal as right now the entire year is a write off.

Yes exactly I agree. For me as long as I'm getting a card with double the performance of another card- I don't mind if the entire price of the computer doubles.

At this point its like buy the CPU and other parts as close to MSRP and from reputable sources and then buy a pre made PC and gut the GPU and resell the other guts of said system or add them to your own system at this point in time. Customization is almost all dead with how GPU's are getting their price inflated to unrealistic amounts.

My 500 dollar GPU a 2070 RTX super ftw3 ultra+ is inflated to a unbelievable price of two times MSRP (used) and new its a wallet sucking dry amount of upwards of FOUR TO FIVE times my 500 dollar price. 😰

I love PC building and gaming.
REMEMBER botttlenecks can happen at all points of a PC part. Make sure you are at equilibrium. For all parts unless you intend to upgrade at a later point. Also QA Tested AAA Games.
