This has nothing to do with distilled vs tap water.

Ew. Oh. My. God. That is the CRUSTIEST loop I have EVER seen! To me that looks either like residue buildup or calcium buildup. I don't have a loop, so I'm not an expert

If you have never used a custom loop, why do you feel the need to provide uninformed commentary on a topic you have no experience with?

You would be sure. Distilled water comes from store bought bottles. Did you buy the water in a store that was labelled clearly as distilled or did you use tap water?

Kinda concerning if you don’t even know what water you’re using, that’s a separate issue.

Do I need to do anything about it. If so how do I get rid of it. Thanks a lot, I was going to go buy citric acid to get rid of calcium saved me.

just rinse it out, no way you dont use acid for nickel plated blocks.
