How to port forward?

I have watched multiple videos on port forwarding and no matter what I do I can't seem to get a port forwarded.

What are you trying to port forward, what hardware are you working with, and how is it not working?

Before port forwarding, disable firewal in the target pc.

What IP address are you using to connect to your PC? I've seen a lot of people trying to use their internal IP addresses instead of External.
