Need Help choosing the right GPU

Hello LTT-Forum,

I want to upgrade my gaming rig, because my old GPU is getting too slow for my new ultrawide monitor. I know the gpu market is really expencive right now but i need a better one for my online lecture.

My Current Specs:

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600

Motherboard: Asus Prime B350-Plus

RAM: 2x8gb Corsair DDR4, 3000MHz

GPU: MSI R9 390 Gaming 8G

CPU Cooler: CoolerMaster, probably the Masterliquid ML240, dont know 100%

Monitor: AOC CU34G2X, 3440x1440 running at 100Hz and another 1080p Dell

My Budget: Around 400-450€

My Problem: Wanna game AAA games in something better than low resolution and 60FPS, my GPU doesnt like the new monitor in comparison to my old 1080p60Hz monitor..Sometimes use it for Video Production aswell but thats not a big aspect.

A Friend of mine could sell me his old rx 580 aorus 8GB for around 360€. Is this enaugh for some Warzone on acceptable quality with the resolution of my monitor? Would you reccoment me another card?

Thanks for your Help! Appreciate it!

Rx 580 will definately push better frames, however it still isnt fantastic at 1440p gaming especially ultrawide 1440p gaming. Also the card msrpś for like 200 so youŕe kinda getting scalped by your friend

For ultrawide 1440p, the RX 580 is not going to the job you want it to, not to mention that it is a terrible value at 360 Euro. While it might have the memory buffer to do so, it certainly lacks the raw horsepower. For Warzone at that resolution with medium-high settings, you will need a GTX 1080-class card to be able to push close to 100FPS.

This means that with a budget of 400-450 Euro you will not be able to buy anything that is new and is capable of delivering this kind of performance. Your best bet would be to get something like an AIB overclcoked GTX 1070, GTX 1080 or a 5600XT. 5700XT would be optimal for that resolution, but those are usually way more expensive.

The biggest thing holding you back is the GPU, but you're not going to get anything appreciably better right now for your budget, because prices are nuts.
