I7 4790k Devil's Canyon 2021

I have successfully overclocked an old processor in 2021 with a AIO liquid cooler and I'm running at 4.6 gigahertz on an Intel Core i7 4790k 4th gen with a turbo boost over 5.27 to 5.28 and a cinebench temperature test of Max 77 Celsius and an idle temp that goes around 35 to 49 degrees Celsius and the overclock is stable no crashing what turbo boost enabled in the Bios or should I say enhance Turbo with XMP on an MSI gaming 5 motherboard z97 series and a 46 CPU ratio multiplier nothing else was tweaked I hope this finds people that still running this processor

Neat, some legacy overclocking!

4.6ghz all core is a pretty average overclock. The temps are about maxed out for your frequency and it should hold stability.

You can overclock the Ring (cache) ratio, but don't go over 1.20v Try to keep that maybe 1.1250v. Try 4.4ghz or x44 multi.

Then of course you can squeeze a tad more from memory overclocking.

If you come back, I'd enjoy some screen shots at least 🙂

GL!
