Will my PSU be enough for this build? PSU Recommendation

icy3309

Hello,

I currently have a NZXT C-Series 650 Watt PSU.

This is my current system, although I am planning to upgrade to a 3080, if I find one.

Ryzen 7 5800x (overclocked to 4.8)

Gainward Ghost 1660 super OC

Gigabyte Aorus x570 Ultra

32 GB of 3000 Mhz Ram (I want to upgrade this to 3200 Mhz and overcock it even further)

4 fans, 3 drives and some LED strips

Now I am unsure if my 650 Watt unit will power all of this with a 3080 instead of 1660, any thoughts on this? I was also thinking that I dont want the PSU to be running at max all the time bc of fan noise. I guess 650 Watts should be ok, but I think the fan of the PSU will ramp up if I do so. Also, what tier would my sytem be in (for the PSU Tier list)?

Any tips?

With the 3800 it seems a bit close but doable.

I doubt you'll have issues with psu noise though.

I mean my gpu and cpu fans are way more noisy than my psu and your psu is good.

I'm willing to swim against the current.

NO, you will need at least a 750W PSU and that is just for the 2X 8 Pin cards.

For the 3X 8 Pins cards at least an 850W PSU is needed.

I don't think NZXT C650 would cut it but you already have it, why not try it and then if it doesn't work swap the PSU.

It's a PSU tier list, your system has nothing to do with it. If you're asking what tier the PSU you should look for from, the answer is, if possible then tier A.
