Will a 2070 gpu from an Alienware prebuilt work in my custom build?

As long as its a standard card either from a company like msi asus gigabyte and the rest or a founders edition it should be fine as long as it fits your new case.

It will fit but the bottom just looks a bit funny to me. This is my first computer sorry for not knowing much

That's one of the designs that OEMs like Dell and HP use. It's a proper card.

I’m sorry I don’t really know much and I don’t have much experience so I was nervous because the card came from a prebuilt and I’m putting it in my computer that I built. Just want to confirm that I didn’t just throw away money

No, you're completely fine, it's always better to be cautious and make sure something will work before trying it out. It looks perfectly fine to me, I just wasn't sure what part you were talking about.
