What are all lens types including funky ones like anamorphic?

Just read the title and comment all types of lenses cause I was very very curious I had to make a post.

narrow it to just different types of lenses like macro anamorphic etc

Plasmat, Petzval, Rapid Aplanat. There are three to start the list.

Like I said, there are literally thousands.

 

Instead of listing lens types, try to find pictures that you like, see what lens was used to make it, then learn about that specific lens design.

 

Many people like petzvals for their smooth falloff (and when used on bigger sensors than intended, the swirl)

 

 

Plasmats are a modern design that is sort of a jack of all trades, master of none.

 

Achromatic doublets are good specialized superspeed lenses.
