I had a notification of windows software Update, and i was busy by that time,so i click ed on the start menu and then clicked update and shutdown.A while later when i turned on my PC,the boot time was 5/6 mins(generally it takes 5/7seconds to boot).I thought the updates might not have been installed properly,so i restarted the PC,but same result. It booted(took longer this time). And after that My 1TB Toshiba HDD was missing.my 2 120gb SSD is running perfectly. But a while later windows explorer stopped responding .I shut down my pc manually.and then its now taking longer to boot and then the display shows nothing other than a mouse pointer which is bigger than it should be.Any knowledgeable person here to help me out?

My PC specs are core i5 4th gen locked processor,8 GB dual channel memory,Dual ssd(i use one of them for the C drive, and other one as a normal drive),and a 1TB Toshiba HDD

If you can get into Startup Repair there is an option to revert the update and go back to the old version. If that works then you know it was the update that broke things. However it's possible that your drive failed even because of or in conjuction with the update in which case that won't help.

I can't remember how you get into it manually as it's always dumped me there automatically before when I've done something wrong.

You can definitely get to it if you boot off the windows installation media, but it's entirely likely you don't still have that around. Some websites say it appears if you press F8 or F11 on start, so maybe try that?

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

Usually failures like that happen before you notice, most people only notice them when it's too late and things go wrong.

True - my line of thinking was that if Windows had done lots of reads or writes to the drive as part of the update process then it could have finished off a drive which was already on its last legs. Of course, if OP noticed immediately that it was missing then they likely use the drive fairly regularly.

They told me it was unused i dont know more than that

Did it come sealed in a retail TOSHIBA hard drive box?
