Hi all,

First time posting. I'm building a PC after quite a long time. Moving from my current build of Intel i5-4790k, 16GB RAM, 1080Ti to an AMD build with the 5900x. I have purchased most of parts from the build list below.

I'm unsure about which I should pick with the Noctua D15 cooler. Based on the Noctua FAQ page, the cooler height is 165mm, the Corsair RAM according to their site is 51mm. So I would need to shift the second fan by 19mm (or 20mm to leave a bit of space), which means the total clearance required with the adjusted 2nd fan height would be 185mm (165mm +20mm).

I'm having a bit of trouble finding cases which may accommodate the above. One/only option I've come across so far is the Meshify S2, which has a CPU cooler clearance of 185mm (so it'll be a tight fit!).

Does anyone have recommendations for a different case which would work with the above? Or do you think it's better to go for a RAM with a lower profile (e.g. Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 32GB 3600MHz - with height of 33.53mm) instead?

Either way, case recommendations for Noctua D15 with spec below + any gotchas I should look out for when building would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Budget (including currency): Approx 150 GBP (£150) for the case; RAM approx £200

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Productivity, data crunching/ML, occasional gaming

Did you already buy the cooler? You could also go for the NH-U12A. Same performance, same noise levels, same price, but 100% RAM compatibility.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

I did - but it's still in box and within the return period. Thanks for the recommendation - will consider and NH-U12A as an alternative.

If you swap the NH-D15 for there'll be much more cases you can use for your build.
