Hello, Just joined the forum to ask this. Been watching the youtube channel for a while.

I am looking into starting to stream, not video games but Art and Craftwork. My desktop will be living in a different room from my workshop due to severe dust issues as I do metalwork and do not want all those filings and grindings finding their way ANYWHERE near my system. My biggest issue is going to be a keyboard and mouse that will hold up in such an environment. I know I can always just go with one of those cheap silicone keyboards and a cheapo mouse as this is not the part that will be used for anything other than communications and general use. Any suggestions on a good dustproof (IP6*) keyboard/mouse set up that isn't going to break the bank as I attempt to get into streaming?

There are thes things derisively referred to as “Keyboard condoms”. Which are thin flexible molded plastic covers that go over keyboards and keep junk out.  Mice don’t have moving parts anymore except the buttons so some sort of adhesive plastic sheeting would probably be enough.  As for the machine itself there is this extremely large rather expensive case called a mastodon or a mammoth or something that is fully HEPA filtered.  Iirc LTT did a video on it where they actually took a hose to it.  failing that and with an even bigger budget there are silent fanless cases that use external fins and heat pipes to allow them to be completely sealed.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
