When should i build my computer?

Go to solution Solved by soup,

I worried about building my computer because i know new tech is coming.

There is ALWAYS new tech just around the corner.  If you waited on the latest you would wait forever, best just to pick the 'best' you can afford at any particular moment and go with that .

Ob if there are pre-release previews and an item is coming out in a week then wait, but other than that...

As to the overkill statement above; maybe for some people it is too high end (is there such a thing as too high end?) for others it will be a slow system, you have to be brutally honest with yourself what do you want/need, taking into account how much you can afford .

I worried about building my computer because i know new tech is coming. There is DDR-4 and then the new intel chips. Here is my build http://pcpartpicker.com/user/PapaSimmz/saved/3Yq9 and yes the monitor isnt out yet, i would wait for that. WIll there prices drop anytime soon? Any insight?

You could bring that GTX 780 Ti down to a GTX 770 and still get decent FPS. Personally I would wait for the Maxwell GTX 800 series but that's completely up to you.

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

i would rather great FPS than decent since this is gonna be 1440p. Also didnt they show off the 800 series and it was all laptop chips?

It will just be a matter of time before 800 coming for desktop. Anyway I think you can stay with the 780Ti, and later on if it's not good enough you can always do 2 ways SLI
