Hey guys. I've been a fan of Linus for a long time and now that I have a job I can afford to build my own PC. I decided I'd come here and get some advice from people who have done this before. I'll be using this PC for streaming to Twitch, video editing (nothing extreme), playing games like Crysis 3, League of Legends, Battlefield, and Starcraft II among others. The budget for this build is about $2,000 Here's the parts list:

Corsair Hydro Series Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler H100i

Obsidian Series® 450D Mid-Tower PC Case

Asus 24x DVD-RW Serial-ATA Internal OEM Optical Drive DRW-24B1ST (Black)

Western Digital Caviar Green 3 TB SATA III 64 MB Cache Bare/OEM Desktop Hard Drive - WD30EZRX

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory F3-1600C9D-16GXM

Creative Sound Blaster ZX SBX PCIE Gaming Sound Card with Audio Control Module SB1506

EVGA GeForce GTX780 SuperClocked 3GB GDDR5 384bit, Dual-Link DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI,DP, SLI Ready Graphics Card (03G-P4-2783-KR) Graphics Cards 03G-P4-2783-KR

Intel Core i7-4770K Quad-Core Desktop Processor 3.5 GHZ 8 MB Cache BX80646I74770K

Intel 730 SERIES 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive SSDSC2BP240G4R5

Corsair CX750 Builder Series ATX 80 PLUS Bronze Certified Power Supply

ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO DDR3 2800 LGA 1150 Motherboard socket for 4th Generation Intel Core i7/ i5/ i3/ Pentium / Celeron Processors

Any and all feedback is appreciated (as long as it's constructive).

The creative sound blaster z has terrible drivers(gave me blue screens) and the microphone port on it is terrible. Other then that the sound card sounded great when I had it. I recommend the fiio e10 amp and dac combo but only if you do not want surround for gaming.

PS: People on here will tell you that sound cards are useless but if you want, virtual surround, a sound card is the only way you are going to get it. Another thing is to make sure you have decent headphones before buying sound equipment.

So what are the benefits of the RM series over the  CX Series?

Yeah, I was thinking about getting the Razer Tiamat 7.1 Headset, but after thinking about it I think I'm going to opt out and upgrade the GPU.

This guy will tell you about all the advantages. In two words - CX is a value-oriented, RM - performance/features/silence.

If you are not able/don't want to watch the video:

- Zer0 RPM fan mode (while PSU is under 40% load the fan doesn't spin)

- Sleeker cables (for better cable management and looks)

- Better efficiency (CX is Bronze, RM is Gold)

- Linus also said the components are specifically selected so they wouldn't make any noises themselves excuse my French (not all the noise in PSU comes from the fan)

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

I'm Blind. Adjustment made. Another question, On Linus's Build a better $2,000 PC video, He uses the Asus Sabertooth Instead of the MAXIMUS IV Hero. I swapped because I like the looks of the Hero better. Other than the obvious heat shield covering the entire board, is here any significant difference between the two?

Swap the SSD, the PSU and don't buy the sound card. :)

did that in my little excel doc and i'm swapping the 780 for a 780ti. dropping $730 on a GPU is going to be fun lol.

Sabertooth has eSATA ports, but Hero (IMO) looks better and has that little handy POST display which can really help in troubleshooting should it ever come to that. In everything else these mobos are pretty much on par. If you have the money and like the looks of Hero more - go for it. (I personally got the Maximus IV the same way :D )

Build looks good, for 1920x1080 single monitor gaming I think the Ti is a waste I would get a 780.

And the samsung 840 evo is a better value then Intel.

Ditch the sound card

One 780 is more then enough and gaming headsets suck. It is better to get headphones and a mic separately. The only one I recommend is the Corsair Vengeance 2100 because it is wireless.

2 monitors is highly recommended for streaming, so I would say get 2 monitors.

PS: If you do not live by a micro center, staples will price match them. My brother got a 4770k from staples for $250.

hell, just getting the samsung EVO instead of the intel one should save you enough money for the 780Ti :P

I find that 780ti's are unnecessary for gaming and light video editing.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

its still better, maybe not a good performance to cost ratio but its still got better performance if one has the money and find those extra fps's worth it, and looking at this build with the i7 and such this didnt seem like a budget build.

My issue with cooling:

The 450d offers 8 total fan mounts. 4 are intake. 4 our exhaust. With the dual 120 rad mounted on the top of the case, The exhaust CFM will be severely restricted (or at least I think it will be). Should i use all SP edition fans for intake, SP fans on the rad, and an AF edition fans on the back rear Exhaust to promote negative pressure? I plan on overclocking my 4770K for better streaming capabilities, so I want a low ambient temperature. What would be the best route to go here?
