Network for a small game studio

Hi!

I'm in the process of upgrading my studio's network... what gear do I need? I'm using a 1-2,5 Gb network. So my question is what gear do I need? Switches, firewall, access point, etc...

 

We don't have any equipment because we're moving into our new office. 4 computers wired via ethernet and a couple of wireless connections so I'd say around 8-10 devices connected. Our current speed is 1Gb and our NAS does not require higher than 1Gb. We don't have a set budget yet but around 1000-1500$...

Is the current networking gear that you are using in your existing studio, not meeting your needs, and in what way?

What devices are you connecting? 

 

What do you need 2.5gbe for if the nas isn't using it?

 

Probably just get a 1gbe 24 port switch, id go managed if you can, and then a router like a netgate pfsense box or a untalge system. 

 

How many access points do you need? Probalby get something like the tp link omada or engenius ones.
