andarhan

Hello, I have a 1TB 970 Evo Plus that overprovisioned by Samsung Magician. I am trying to convert it to GPT to disable the compatibility support module to enable the resizable bar support to get 2 more fps馃挭馃徑. How can I safely do it?

Is it Disk 2 or Disk 4?
If it's Disk 2, delete the 2 partitions (backing up any necessary data on them), right-click on Disk 2, and select "Convert GPT".

If it's DIsk 4, you'll have to reinstall Windows under GPT instead of MBR.

Unfortunately it is Disk 4 but anything for +2fps.

No need to reinstall, there is a program from microsoft called MBR2GPT that I have used multiple times to convert systems from mbr with legacy boot to uefi boot without a reinstall.

Can I clone the installation to a new drive?

Alright then.

You'll need to do a fresh install (not reinstall from the drive), so you'll need a bootable Windows 10 USB.

Back up all the data you need, reboot onto the USB, and then completely wipe the drive.

Then install to the drive, making sure it's GPT.

No need to do a fresh install, tools like MBR2GPT will do it without a reinstall or usb.

No need to clone or reinstall, you can convert to gpt with this tool聽https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/mbr-to-gpt

Make a backup first though.
