You can get a different motherboard if you're looking to lower the price. If you live near a microcenter,  you can get some 4670k combos at really good prices.

i dont thik you need caviar black, nor this expensive motherboard. are you overclocking? with what cpu cooler?

you could have bought 780 and cheaper board and caviar blue with that kind of money, maybe cuple tenners more

If you need an operating system, add another $100.

 

For $1200, this is a beast of a computer.  If you aren't interested in SLI, and do some deal hunting, you can bring the price down to around $1000.  For $1000, it will be tough to build a better computer than this.

No point getting 16GB ram just for gaming. 8GB is plenty.

You need both a k series cpu and z87 chipset to oc your cpu.

I'm was pointing out the differences that would make the list worst that what I suggested while costing $50 more.

If you're going to spend $50 more for worse hardware, I thought I'd at least point it out to make sure you know what you're doing.

I just love how every one suggestion forgets to mention the OS, since it's a required item, unless you wanna do eg spreadsheets on SteamOS?
