Tp-link extender lagging in Rocket League

Hey all, 
So I have this Tp-link AC750 wifi extender and it is lagging in Rocket League. My ping is in the 100-200s which is not good. I got it for $30 on Amazon. I know this is going to sound obvious, but is there any difference between a $30 extender and a $60 one? I chose to get a cheaper one.

I am new to computer stuff.

Task Manager says the extender is sending around 550kbps and receiving 25-30mbps. 

I am also at 2.4g (that's what it physically says on the extender). I accidently turned off 5g somehow by pressing this button on the side and don't know how to get it back on. 


Anyway, does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
