Strange rattle noise from Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master chipset fan

HARLYN88

Hi,

I've just received my new motherboard and while unpacking I already noticed a strange rattling sound. It seems to be the chipset fan rattling after closer inspection.

I've recorded a short video of the sounds

https://youtu.be/IBnTna9GKNI

Does anybody know if this is normal or should i RMA this? I've also asked gigabyte customer support, but they promised 3-5 days before they would answer..

I built a R7 computer using a Aorus Master last Friday and the chip set fan did not make a sound.

I also rested my finger on the chip set fan housing while it was running since my 3 slot 2080 ti would be resting on it and it did not have a change in sound.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your input.

Now I'll wait for gigabyte to answer and postpone my build. A shame since i have vacation and planned to do the build this week. 😞

Return it if you can.

My build was postpones since I originally bought a Crosshair Hero VIII but it was DOA. I bought it from BestBuy and returned it.  The Crosshair Heros were out of stock so I went with an  Aorus Master from Amazon.

I only buy motherboards from stores with easy returns since half the ones I buy now don't work.

I just figured, that the rattling isn't coming from the fan/fan shroud, but indeed from the m.2 metal covers.. my mistake.
