Recently I've been having issues with my laptop's headphone jack. At first it was not outputting any audio, despite the volume mixer saying it was. After re-installing the audio drivers a few times and rolling back the audio drivers, my aux still didn't work. I then decided to update the bios to see if that would help in any way, but this just made windows not detect the headphone jack entirely. I'm thinking its a hardware issue but if any of you are able to give me some advice on how I might fix it, it would be greatly appreciated!

Laptop model: ASUS ga502du

P.S. I tested the aux with many different speakers and headphones.

P.P.S. I have a DAC that still outputs sound (shown in screenshot)

has it worked before?

here's something to try:

download the latest audio driver from asus's site for your laptop (https://rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-zephyrus/rog-zephyrus-g15-series/helpdesk_download)

after downloading it, unplug/disconnect from the internet (to prevent windows from installing junk)

open up device manager (win+x -> device manager)

locate the speaker/audio, and uninstall it, then run the driver you downloaded, see if it fixes it

if it does, you can try connecting back to the internet, and if it stops working after that, you can do all of this again, but before u reconnect you can disable hardware driver update in windows.

Sadly, this didn't work. Thank you for the suggestion though! And yes, the audio has been working ever since I bought this laptop.

It is, but sadly I can not RMA it since I use it for my daily CAD workflow.

maybe consider using USB/BT audio solutions for the time being until you can get aroud to RMA-ing it

I’ll probably just do that, or I may be able to RMA it for a refund and just by a laptop that actually functions correctly because this is just one of the many problems I’ve had with it.
