We really need to know your system specs, and what settings your changing (is XMP on; what speed is the RAM running, voltages, what software are you using in windows, etc etc)

Well, ok, fair. lol. FX def did 5 Ghz. A good handful of older chips would do 5 GHz if you pumped ridiculous volts through them, your right, your right. lol. Good ol FX and Celeron D still holin the top of the OC record boards.

What did you use to verify that 5GHz?

 

And booting the system itself is.more stressful than idling in desktop

Out oof curiosity.... why get an "expensive mobo" and only use a middle ground CPU in it? I would have thought a ~180 dollar motherboard and throw the 100 bucks you saved on the mobo at a better CPU, like a 10700k so you can get 2 more cores..?

bc i was going to get a 200 usd one bc i need z chipset to do an oc and i was going to get a cheaper one, but when we went to microcenter (this was on vacation bc we dont have one where we live) my dad just said why not just get this one if its better, and he covered the difference bc my sister bought some stuff on the trip so this was like, my gift.

A good mobo is ok to pair with a mid range CPU.. you can run the snot out of that CPU and the board wont blink.

The i5-10600KF has a Base Clock of 4.1 GHz (100 MHz x 41), and the MAX single-core Turbo Boost of 4.8 GHz.

You're not going to easily JUST change the CPU Multiplier Ratio = 50.

You'll need to adjust things like voltage(s), possibly CPU Load-Line Calibration levels, to get 5.0 GHz to run successfully / stable.

 

Is your system stable with JUST X.M.P. for the RAM enabled?

Not saying you can't, but from a performance standpoint it always makes way more sense to get a better CPU when your mobo is 100 bucks more expensive then "a good" mobo will cost. My mobo was 190 bucks, and its running a 10700k at 5.1 ghz without blinking.... Thats just my point, but he has a good reason so fair enough.

You can get a good clock out of a mid range board. No one disputed that. 

 

Congrats for being able to run your stock clocks @ all core!

 

A good mobo doesn't mean top end, it means its not shitty, not the best, but good.

 

I ran Intel for a long time, just because you see AMD in my sig doesn't mean anything.
