I got this computer second hand and it had this 550 ti in it , i got it out to clean it with the other components, when i put it back, it shown no signal, i looked at it and see that on the back it didnt have a bit of metal on a piece , i would want to know if thats the problem or is something else

One wonders how hard you cleaned it to knock parts off the board.  Higher probability that it’s just not making contact correctly after it was replaced though.  Check the cables and reseat stuff perhaps.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Could very well be the cause of the issue. It seems that something got knocked of the pcb.

If you did knock a part off the board cleaning it the piece should be rattling around somewhere.

Part of the issue is the 550ti is a cut down version of another card. It’s possible that a company building 550ti boards could be building them on 560 or even 580 pcbs.  In that case there would be unfilled spaces for components.  Some of them might even be presoldered.  The problem is it was a while ago and a lot of companies build boards.  Someone might know the answers to these things but it’s very possibly not even documented anywhere.

That supports the “it’s just not all plugged in righ” theory.   If it was working and nothing fell off and it’s now not working it wouldn’t be because of a missing piece.

Could be anywhere in the machine.  If you cleaned the whole machine all sorts of things could have happened.  It does say that the statement total isn’t broken and things can be seated correctly in that slot and the slot itself is functional. Is the solder on that missing part smooth or jagged? If something cracked and fell off the solder would not be smooth.  Solder smooths out when high heat is applied.

Yep.  Higher heat than a running machine could produce.  If it’s smooth everywhere it likely happened before the card was ever put in the machine. Might also have pointy bits which could make it inclonclusive depending.

I’m not 100% convinced the card is broken but it’s possible I guess.  there is another low probability option: the cleaning process used generated static and that got into a processor sensitive to such somehow and fried something.  The only thing I’ve heard direct even anecdotal evidence of static actually damaging computer parts is memory, and that was old stuff.  Before they started putting heat sinks on almost all dram.  It’s described as a major potential problem so I dunno.
