I'm experiencing serious lag and just generally poor connection between my xbox controller and my pc when the controller is connected wirelessly. I'm only a few feet from the system when I try to play. Wired it works great.

It's the newer version of the controller that connects without the dedicated microsoft controller dongle. I've tried 2 different bluetooth devices and 2 different controllers. Ive updated everything (dongle, bluetooth card, windows, and even the controllers). Ive also noticed my FPS will sometimes dip hard when the controller is connected wirelessly.

Any help would be SERIOUSLY appreciated. I can't find anyone else in the forms with a similar problem and solution. Thanks in advance.

This is my pc.

Bluetooth. As I stated in the original post I'm using the newer controller that connects via bluetooth.

My wifi card has bluetooth which i tried and i tried a dedicated USB dongle as well.

Should I buy one of the old original xbox one controllers and try that?

Hi,

I have the same issue. Either with the internal BT adapter or with a USB 3.0 Adapter. I think, that this is related with the USB issue that is cursing AMD CPU/Motherboards.

Check here:

And here:

So I'm waiting for the AGESA 1.2.0.2 and hoping that it will also solve this issue.

Thanks for that, Dark-vash.

While waiting for this update to be publicly available, try disabling PCIe gen4 and see if it resolves the issue.

No prob, it's maddening! I get what @BoltActionBacon is feeling 😑

Although forcing PCIe 3.0 solved some issues I had with USB 2.0 Headers on the Motherboard, it made the issue with BT worse. I was playing FF12 (Gamepass) with BT headset and Xbox One controller, each time the controller disconnected, I noticed some frame drops, from 60 to ~50, and some hiccups on the sound, it stops, once the controller is connected again it's lasted around 2~3 seconds. With PCIe 3.0 forced, Frame drops would go down to 15~20, sound was horrible and sometimes the controller didn't even reconnected. I had to do it manually. If connected through USB Cable, no issues at all, but sometimes would ear 1 crack or 2 on my headphones, nothing major.

From my experience, Bluetooth with the XB1 controllers has consistently sucked ass. Assuming you can get even get the damned thing to reliably re-connect (like after the controller powers down and you turn it back on later), the connection quality can vary from pretty good to absolute garbage (and I'm using an 8260 with fairly good wireless antennas in pretty close range, too).

I've had the first-generation wireless adapter for probably 5 years now at least, and it almost always works flawlessly. I'd honestly just recommend forking over the 30 bucks to get one.
